Waikiki with our Teeny Wahini

One of the perks to Brit's job is his traveling...
He gets to be away for a weekend a month and I get to watch whatever movies and shows I want for 2 days. His work just sent him to Hawaii and Lyla and I were able to go with him! It was so relaxing and wonderful! I realize I am a lot nicer when I hear the ocean.

Lyla loved the ocean, and it even helped her rashes! We do salt water baths at home now.

Yes, I did have to find spf 100 for my little pearl.

She was eating it by the fist-fuls! Isn't that some weird disease or something?

For those of you who have never been there, Matsumoto's Shaved Ice, on the North Shore, is like pure bliss in a plastic cup! They make their own flavors and for .50c more you get a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the bottom. The line is always, no matter what time of day, curved out the door into the parking lot. Last time we were there we got up early and had it for breakfast!

I chose rainbow, and Brit concocted some strange root beer-lime-grape...
I know he was envious of mine right away.

I have to make note of the sunbathing gentleman in the background. We just watched him for like 3 hours. He had a 20lb. weight, a football, one sandal, a camera, and his Minnesota Vikings beach cruiser distinctly placed around him. We would notice after a bit the places would be switched, like he was doing some fung shui order around himself. Every 20 min or so he would stand up and pump the 20 lb. weight! It was awesome. You can't make up family memories like that!

Sophie turned 4 in April. I have been really looking forward to doing my birthday tribute to her but I keep getting side tracked. I love Sophie! She is so spunky! Sometimes that spunk makes me curse, but for the most part she keeps us all laughing. I was always worried she would have 'middle child syndrome', but I know now...she will be heard!

Susan Arlene Terry
1950-2009

Susan Arlene Terry, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend returned home to her Heavenly Father on Saturday March 14th, 2009 after a lengthy illness.

Suzie was born March 9, 1950 in Artesia, New Mexico to Bill and Margaret Conley. From a young age Suzie had a love for music and singing. She performed in several musicals and loved to share her talent with others. Her voice was one of her special talents, something that her family missed greatly during her illness. We know now that she is singing with angels.
She had a happy childhood surrounded by her family and many friends. She attended Mayfield High School in Las Cruses, NM where she met her to be sweetheart in sophomore English class. Marshall recalls seeing her from across the room and feeling that he had known her all of his life before ever meeting her.

Susan married her classmate, Marshall Terry in the spring of 1969, when they were both just 19 years old. Their abiding love lasted 40 beautiful years on earth. Their love story is one of the greatest ever told and will surely last throughout eternity. Together they had three boys, they spent countless hours supporting them in all their accomplishments. She enjoyed all of their sporting events and never missed a game. She was the ultimate baseball mom. For someone so small, she had a mighty voice that could cheer and holler above all else.

She was a great business woman and found much happiness in her work. She became Partner in a Utah based Public Relations firm and like the rest of her life she gave selfless service in her work and callings in church. She held many church callings that she loved, and being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints brought her much happiness.
She loved her children more than life itself. She was so proud to be a mother and grateful for the opportunity to raise her sweet boys. She made her family’s life more important than her own, she played a great role in taking care of her brothers and sisters, and then later in life, her parents.

She had a great love for her beautiful daughters that were brought to her by marriage, which also brought, her most prized possession, her nine grandchildren. She loved her family and will without a doubt be cleaning her mansion in Heaven so that when we all return we will have a clean home to return to. We know it won’t be long before she finds a cute little jewelry shop in Heaven to make her feel right at home.

Susan is survived by her loving husband, Marshall Terry, Saratoga Springs, her children, Michael (Hope), Idaho Falls, Britton (Cristine), Saratoga Springs, Jacob (Melissa), Saratoga Springs; her brother Joe (Sophia) Stewart, Nancy Lack, Dewey (Kim) Conley, Margi (Tom) Jackman; and her 9 beautiful grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18th at 11 AM at the Saratoga Springs Stake Center, 587 S. Saratoga Road, Saratoga Springs. Viewing will be held before the funeral at 9:30 AM at the same building. Special thanks to those who cared for her and loved her. Online condolences http://www.serenicare.com/

Sophie the Snake Charmer...

So I took the girls to scouts with me tonight so I'd have an excuse to leave early, but we ended up staying later than we had hoped because it was Reptile Night! The scouts were doing their reptile merit badge so they all gather at one of the kids house that has a bunch of snakes as pets...I guess a dog was just too much work, who knows.

At first they were both a little nervous as we walked in to greet the giant iguana, Chloe began to wonder if she had made the right choice by going with daddy to see the snakes, she had me by the sleeve for the first 5 minutes. A few of the boys were showing off the snakes to the girls and one of them asked Soph if she wanted to hold one and right away she shook her head yes!

Chloe on the other hand needed some encouragement, she was going off of her knowledge that snakes eat you and they aren't know as pets in her mind. She kept asking before we went if they were going to be in cages. She warmed up and become partial to the little black and white king snake...I have to admit I didn't hold them, too creepy, I was better at nudging the girls along!!

I think its pretty clear who the tomboy is in our family...

Did you miss us...?

Well I was the one that started this thing a few years ago but Cris decided to take it over and girly it all up. So the lack of postings must be blamed on Cris not me as I continue to feed you some Terry family memories. I have to admit I was a little hurt that I didn't get much response to the art I posted last time, a classic like that should have created all kinds of buzz.

Jonelle, your copy is on it's way to you as we speak!!

Here's what we've been up to lately.

We had a wonderful Christmas, the "big girls" got a giant doll house from Grandma Drake that dad spend forever putting together...I think the Chinese as they build the millions of peices must get a little chuckle as they pack them all in the box at the misery that awaits dad's like me that have to put it all together.

Santa brought the Easy Bake Oven for Chloe, what a treat, we enjoyed mini-chocolate chip cookies and it only took 30 minutes for the light bulb to cook them, don't you wish you had one of these...?

Sophie not only got the Ariel doll but an Ariel phone and case, Ariel lipstick, etc etc etc. She was thrilled at the under the sea treasures.

We had Grandma and Poppa Terry over for Christmas Eve dinner, thanks Cristine for your amazing culinary talents, (she made rice crispy treats...good job honey!!) Just kidding she prepared the entire meal, we did our first Terry Turkey, and all the other fixins, we are so proud of ourselves.

We got to see Kelly twice over the holidays once in Las Vegas for Turkey Day and at our house with Grandma and Poppa Drake the week of Christmas. We had so much fun, we keep trying to get them to move up here but we've yet to crack them.

Unfortunately, because I was the guide and host of the Terry Winterland Experience for our visitors, I didn't have a camera with me when we went on the hightlight of the week, Tubing/Sledding!! Apparently they don't teach people from Las Vegas how to slow down or stop on the tubing hill, Poppa Drake used more of the Clark W. Griswald style of sledding and slammed into a wall with first his shoulder, then his head and had a few cuts to prove it. Shortly after that stunt, Cousin Bailey followed down the hill on a tube and smacked her head on the same wall. I guess next time we will pick a hill that doesn't have a concrete wall at the bottom of it...To my defense in years past we've never been able to reach the wall, but due to the huge amounts of snowfall from earlier that week we discovered you can make it to the wall. Maybe Kelly can send me some pictures of that day for accuracy of my story.

Just before the snow fell Cris has the great idea for family pictures...how fun for us. Aunt Margi did an awesome job with the girls and even made me look halfway normal, I guess I can't be the judge on that though, but of course Cristine looks beautiful as always.

And of course our little muffin Lyla...She is so much fun, she is getting big and has so much personality, she is so sweet. Cris is attempting to feed her via spoon, it was quite a mess. She is 7 months now and her sisters completely love and terrorize her at the same time.

Something from Me to You, Enjoy it...

For some reason Cristine wouldn't allow me to hang this piece of artwork in our family collage, so I thought it would be appropriate to share with the world, there is no reason this beauty should be kept to just us, so enjoy, its a one of a kind...

It was a glorious time...

My sweet wife sure knows how to throw a mean party...thank you muffin!

The love that was shown me was to be remembered...(Joel thought it was appropriate to give me a head to head hug, as you can see if was picture worthy!

Some of my buds, my Pops, Joel and Mandi, and yes "the Jake Fisher."

Me and Pops

Those crazy kids of ours with Cousin Jadie and Mitch.

I was hoping for the spank machine but it never panned out...Cris dropped the ball on that one! The Browns and Teriipaia's where with us too but they must have been camera shy, we didn't get any pics of them, we love you anyway.
